Lords Test 2011 : India vs England first test :England won by 196 runs; lead series 1-0

End of the game! The 2000th Test at Lord's goes to England! This is England's first Test win against India in 9 years

England strengthened their grip over India by removing Sachin Tendulkar to leave the visitors struggling at 218 for five at tea on the fifth and final day of the first cricket Test at Lord's in London today.
The visitors, set a target of 458 in the fourth innings, had Suresh Raina (54 not out) and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (16 not out) at the crease.
Tendulkar, coming into the action after a bout of viral infection, was trapped in front of the wicket by James Anderson for 12 runs. He batted for 85 minutes, faced 68 balls, and hit one four.
The senior batsman made only five runs from an hour's batting in the afternoon, an innings he would like to forget in a hurry, having survived an lbw shout that would have gone on to hit the stumps, a dropped chance in the slips while trying to leave an Anderson delivery and finally his dismissal, which closed his account at Lord's.
From five Tests and nine innings, Tendulkar has managed 195 runs at an average of 21.66 with 37 being his highest at this venue.
The afternoon session began with England operating with Stuart Broad, who was given the task to unsettle young Suresh Raina with short-pitched stuffs.
But it was Tendulkar who looked a bit rusty, and was rapped on his pads by Broad when on 11. Umpire Billy Bowden was not convinced but television replays suggested that the batsman was out.
The English fielders got quite agitated, wondering that if the original DRS was applicable, Tendulkar would have been trudging back to the pavilion.
A little while later, Raina clipped Broad towards the onside for two to bring up India's 150, in 295 minutes and 355 balls.
