The prince of Bengal Sourav Ganguly might have stopped playing competitive cricket but dada is still a venerated figure in the Indian cricket team.
Apparently, its this camaraderie that has led the former KKR captain invite Gautam Gambhir, KKR skipper in the last season, to be a part of his much-talked about game show.
Gambhir is all set to arrive in Kolkata on July 9 to shoot a celebrity special episode of ‘Ke Hobey Banglar Kotipati.’
Talking to a daily, a source close to the unit of the show said, “Sourav considers Gambhir to be a match-winner. He is the one to have invited him to the show. I remember when Sourav was dropped from the Indian squad for the third Test against Sri Lanka in December 2005, two people could make it to his hotel room. One was Gambhir, the other being Harbhajan Singh. It would be interesting to see the two Team Kolkata captains come face-to-face. Gambhir is the current vice-captain of Team India, Sourav was the captain of which. In many ways, this episode is a coming together of the past and the present.”
