Stuart Broad ruled out for three weeks

England bowler Stuart Broad has been ruled out of all cricket for three weeks as he attempts to recover from a calf strain, the England and Wales Cricket Board announced on Tuesday.

Broad missed England's second Test victory over Sri Lanka in Colombo last week and had been due to take part in the Indian Premier League for Kings XI Punjab before flying home from the tour.

"Stuart Broad has been ruled out of all cricket for three further weeks, including the current Indian Premier League, in order to continue his rehabilitation from a right calf strain sustained during England's recent tour of Sri Lanka," an ECB statement said.

"Broad will be assessed regularly over the coming weeks with a view to returning to cricket with Nottinghamshire in early May."
