CHENNAI: India's latest spin sensation Ravichandran Ashwin married childhood friend and schoolmate Preethi Narayanan here Sunday.
While a reception, attended by his Tamil Nadu teammates, friends and relatives, was held Saturday evening, the marriage was solemnised according to Hindu rites Sunday morning at a very low-key ceremony.
The couple is scheduled to fly to Kolkata later Sunday as Ashwin is set to play in the second Test against West Indies at Eden Gardens beginning Monday.The marriage concluded a fruitful week for the 25-year-old off-spinner who claimed nine wickets on his Test debut at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi last week.
